Transparency about how this site makes money

GarageSpaceGuide is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

This means that when you click on certain links on this site and make a purchase on Amazon, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our affiliate link or go directly to Amazon.

What this means for you

  • No extra cost: affiliate commissions come out of Amazon’s marketing budget, not your pocket. You pay the same price either way.
  • No influence on recommendations: we don’t recommend products because they pay higher commissions. Our editorial process evaluates products based on durability, fit-for-purpose, build quality, and real-world usability — not commission rates.
  • Honest assessments: we highlight strengths AND limitations of every product. If a product is wrong for a particular use case (for example, a wire shelf that’s too shallow for 27-gallon totes), we say so even when we recommend it for other use cases.

How affiliate links are identified

Affiliate links on this site are typically presented in the form of:

  • “Buy on Amazon” or “View on Amazon” buttons
  • Product showcase boxes with images, titles, and call-to-action buttons
  • Inline product mentions where the product name links to its Amazon listing
  • Comparison tables with linked product names

Whenever you see a link or button leading to Amazon, you can assume it is an affiliate link unless explicitly stated otherwise.

What we DO NOT do

In line with FTC guidelines and Amazon’s Operating Agreement, we adhere to the following rules:

  • We do not display Amazon prices or ratings on this site outside of Amazon’s own product widgets, because these change frequently. To see current prices, ratings, and availability, please visit the Amazon product page directly.
  • We do not claim hands-on testing unless explicitly stated in the article. Many of our articles are research-based, drawing on manufacturer specifications, user reviews aggregated across platforms, and editorial judgment. When we conduct hands-on testing, we say so clearly.
  • We do not fabricate reviews or experiences. Every claim about a product is either sourced from the manufacturer, the retailer listing, or our own research and analysis.
  • We do not use deceptive linking techniques. All affiliate links open Amazon in a new tab and clearly take you to the Amazon product page.

FTC compliance

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that affiliate relationships be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. We make this disclosure:

  1. On this dedicated Affiliate Disclosure page
  2. Within individual articles that contain affiliate links, near the top of the article
  3. In the footer of every page on the site

If you have any questions about our disclosure practices, please contact us.

Amazon Associates required disclosure

As required by the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program Operating Agreement:

As an Amazon Associate, GarageSpaceGuide earns from qualifying purchases.

This statement is also included in the footer of every article on the site.

Other affiliate programs

Currently, GarageSpaceGuide participates only in the Amazon Associates Program. If we add additional affiliate programs in the future (for example, direct manufacturer programs, ShareASale, Impact, or others), this page will be updated accordingly.
